Mark T Leslie, CFA

Portfolio Manager on the Small and Small-Mid Cap Value teams. Mark joined William Blair in his current role in 2005. Previously, he was Lead Portfolio Manager of the First American Small Cap Value Fund and co-portfolio manager of the First American Mid Cap Value Fund at U.S. Bancorp Asset Management for eight years. Before becoming a Portfolio Manager, Mark was an Equity Analyst at U.S. Bancorp. Prior to that, he was a sell-side Analyst with Dain Bosworth for five years. Mark is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Dave Mitchell, CFA

Portfolio Manager on the Small and Small-Mid Cap Value teams. Dave joined William Blair in his current role in 1996. Previously, he was a Partner in the U.S. Equity Group at Brinson Partners, Inc., and a member of the Post-Venture Portfolio management team. Prior to that, he was co-manager of Thomas Paine Investors, LP, a private fund that invested in small cap stocks, after working as a Senior Equity Analyst on NBD’s Woodward Opportunity Fund. Prior to that, he was an Equity Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Connecticut National Bank and, prior to graduate studies, an Equity Trader and Money Market Portfolio Manager. Dave served as a director at Reading In Motion (formerly Whirlwind) for over a decade.  Reading In Motion partners with teachers to improve urban children's language arts and learning skills through the arts. Dave is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Chad Kilmer, CFA

Portfolio Manager on the Small and Small-Mid Cap Value teams. Chad joined William Blair in his current role in 2006. Previously, Chad spent two years at U.S. Bancorp Asset Management where he was most recently Lead Portfolio Manager of the First American Small Cap Value Fund. Prior to that, he was an Analyst with the Small Cap Value product at Gabelli Woodland Partners, a subsidiary of Gabelli Asset Management for three years. Chad is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Education: B.S.B., University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management; M.B.A with an emphasis in Finance, Yale University School of Management.
